Discussing the future
From 8 July until 22 July Arunas Blandis, who has been Managing Director at Schweers Australia Pty Limited since 2006, is in Europe. He also visited the headquarters of the Schweers Group in Meerbusch-Osterath and saw his impression confirmed that the group of companies Schweers/PanStreet is always one step ahead in technological terms.
Michael Schweers, Managing Director, founder and owner, and Arunas Blandis discussed future forms of mobility. Michael Schweers demonstrated his drone at the company premises and explained the rules for controlling drones in Germany and especially in North-Rhine Westphalia. Three operating categories, drone license and mandatory marking: on June 18, 2021, adaptations to national law became effective, concretizing the directly applicable European requirements. The basic idea behind the new regulation is a risk-based approach, i.e. the greater the risk of drone operation, the higher the requirements for people and technology. The contact for flight operations in the open category is the locally responsible aviation authority. For example, in North Rhine-Westphalia, this is the Düsseldorf district government for the administrative districts of Cologne and Düsseldorf.
Michael Schweers and Arunas Blandis also had an exchange of views regarding air cabs. They are looking forward to the use of this technology during the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024.
