PBOT Goes All In With Politess Android Enforcement
New Parking Enforcement Solution for Portland, OR
Once again Portland’s Bureau of Transportation (PBOT) turns to Schweers Technologies for their enforcement solution. Faced with major changes to the City’s parking operations, effective immediately, the City of Portland, OR has upgraded their entire fleet of enforcement devices, radically empowering officers and optimizing their solution. Schweers’ handheld LPR technology enables quick scanning of license plates checking against multiple databases for compliance. In real time, officers are provided with detailed information about the compliance status of the vehicle including pay-by-phone payments, digital permits and pay-by-plate meters.
The challenge facing the enforcement team of the City of Portland is the introduction of Pay-by-Phone payments city wide. Plus, all parking permits will become plate based, digitalized and hangtags phased out. In addition, all 1,800 Cale meters will be converted from pay-and-display to pay-by-plate with the elimination of paper receipts. This is a radical change from the previous enforcement workload.
Informed by our 31 years of experience building worldwide parking enforcement solutions, Schweers has developed a streamlined, fast and powerful solution to efficiently enforce these new requirements. Our Android Enforcement App, complete with LPR functionality, on rugged Zebra handhelds, automatics this process while providing the officers with crucial, real time data about the compliance status of each license plate.
Enforcement is multifaceted and therefore the Schweers Enforcement App also tackles the detailed work needed to properly enforce abandoned autos, recreational vehicles, meter feeding and wide spread timing. Each citation is complete with substantiating documentation for quick court handling.
